Christian based Meditation and Movement

A 5-week pop-up course of sessions at St Dionysius Community Hall on Friday mornings.

Feeling stiff and achy?  Tired and lacking in energy?

Unable to relax or focus on what’s important?  We’ve all been through the mill recently, and living Life in abundance as written in John 10.10,  means taking care of our whole selves - the body, and the mind as well as the soul.  I promise, it will be fun and you won’t have to do anything you don’t want to - and you will definitely feel better as a result! (Or I’ll eat my exercise mat!!)

We will practice together a number of gentle exercises to help improve our physical health and mental well-being, so that we can sit more comfortably in peace and stillness, learning to listen to God’s word in our lives.   We will also explore learning how to pray with our bodies, and experience what it means to fully embody Christ’s Holy Spirit here on earth.

The exercises can be practised lying down, seated, and/or standing, and can be modified for anyone with restricted mobility or certain health issues.  Each session will be about an hour long, and will include a mixture of prayer, gentle movements, mindful breathing patterns, a short meditation time, and relaxation (the best bit!), followed by about half an hour for a cuppa and chat at the end.
